WIB Meetings Scheduled
The Lackawanna County WIB Meetings for 2010 are scheduled as follows: March 24, 2010; June 23, 2010; September 22, 2010 and December 15, 2010. All meetings are open to the general public. Unless otherwise advertised/published in the Scranton Times-Tribune prior to the scheduled meeting date, all meetings are held at 4:30 P.M. in the large conference room at the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, 222 Mulberry Street, Scranton, PA 18501.

Workforce Investment Board Milestone Reached!
The Lackawanna County Workforce Investment Board received notification at its Quarterly Meeting on January 17, 2008, of successful attainment of the status of "High-Performing WIB" from Dr. Robert Garraty, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board. Dr. Garraty attended the meeting and addressed the Board, stating that all criteria has been met in accordance with Pennsylvania's Standards for High Performance Local Workforce Investment Boards. Dr. Garraty praised the Board for it's commitment to growth and development, realigment of internal operations to support change, and dedication to on-going workforce and economic develoment not only in Lackawanna County but throughout the Northeast Region of the Commonwealth.
